Underground Storage Tank System Repair/Retrofit for Code Compliance (LC) -- Bring an existing, #2 diesel fuel, underground storage tank (UST) system into compliance with current GA State environmental and fire codes (GA § 391-3-15 and GA § 120-3-11), as follows:
1) Perform all work in general accordance with 29 CFR 1910 (OSHA), ensure compliance with MUTCD requirements for vehicular and pedestrian traffic controls, and maintain proper housekeeping.
2) Replace the existing underground, single-wall, supply and return piping with new double-wall piping, using materials that meet or exceed the above referenced code requirements.
3) Replace existing underground fuel tank accessory equipment with new tank accessory equipment, using materials that meet or exceed the above referenced code requirements, and in accordance with the equipment manufacturers' requirements.
4) Retrofit the existing, single-wall UST, by installing a double-wall fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) tank shell within the existing tank, using a GA Environmental Protection Division (EPD) approved system.
5) Perform post-installation testing and inspections, as required by GA EPD, to demonstrate proper operation of the repaired/retrofitted UST system.
6) Restore the excavation and surface pavement in a manner equivalent to, and/or more substantial than original install.
7) Prepare and submit reporting/documentation to GA EPD, as required.
Surface pavement removal (approximately 230-sq ft) and excavation needed to access the underground piping and the top of the UST are within the facility's property line.
