Property Maintenance -- This is a follow-up regarding previously closed Code Complaint CC-2026-01597. I am requesting a new inspection because the conditions at 1532 Murphy Ave SW continue to present code and public safety concerns.
The lot remains heavily overgrown with weeds, vines, and brush. There are large mounds of dirt and a fallen tree that have been left on the property for an extended period and have become overgrown. The property appears to be inadequately maintained and may provide harborage for rodents, insects, and other pests.
Since the previous complaint, a black privacy fence has been installed along the front of the property. While the fence screens the lot from the street, it does not address the underlying maintenance issues. In addition, the fence obstructs the line of sight for vehicles exiting the adjacent driveway, making it difficult to see pedestrians, cyclists, and approaching traffic on Murphy Avenue. This creates a potential traffic safety hazard.
I respectfully request that Code Enforcement conduct a new inspection of the property, evaluate the overgrown vegetation, debris, fallen tree, dirt piles, and any applicable property maintenance violations, and also assess whether the fence creates a sight-distance or visibility hazard affecting public safety.
Please reference prior complaint CC-2026-01597 during your review. Current photographs documenting the existing conditions are attached. If possible, I request that my identity remain confidential.
