1913 Piedmont RD Self-Storage -- The project consists of a new six-story mixed-use storage facility with a basement. Site-development work includes demolishing the existing building and stairs and removing the gravel, parking lot, power lines, and utility lines. Grading will be performed throughout the site, including raising portions of the property and constructing retaining walls to better match the grades along Piedmont Road. Utility improvements include new water lines, vaults, a fire hydrant, and a sewer manhole, as well as relocating power poles. Erosion and Sediment controls will include retaining walls, inlet sediment traps, stabilization of disturbed areas, tree-protection fencing, and silt fencing. On site trees will be removed and tree-protection fencing will be installed along the site perimeter to protect trees that are off property. Landscaping will include trees along the street frontage, shrubs around the site, and three trees on the southwest side of the property.
