Sunroom additions The permit request is for the addition of an enclosed, 4 season sunroom in the place of an existing deck. The sunroom will be built on the existing deck structure with additional posts at the edge of the house for added support. The deck is 16' wide and 12' deep with a chimney extending about 2'1/2 ft into the room. The chimney will be left undisturbed other than to replace current exterior siding (Hardie board) with interior wall material (drywall or similar). The sunroom will have windows on 3 sides and will have access from the house via cased openings. The cased openings will be constructed in the locations of 2 existing double hung windows that will be moved to side walls of the new room. The roof will be gabled and the room will have a vaulted ceiling. The room will have a split HVAC unit with an outside condenser, a ceiling fan with light and wall outlets per code. The underside of the room (currently the deck) will be finished with bead board or similar and have a ceiling fan with light. A patio under the room will be constructed with paver stones.
