19-77 Animals as a public nuisance
2026-09-29
SR# 26-00036299: "A rooster being kept at 2806 N 10th street repeatedly crows and creates ongoing noise that is plainly audible inside and outside neighboring residences. The rooster is visible/audible from neighboring properties and is being kept on the residential property with the other chickens. City of Tampa Code 27-282.28 permits hens as an accessory use but specifically prohibits roosters. I am requesting that Neighborhood Enhancement inspect the property and address the prohibited rooster." SR# 26-00036297 "Chicken manure and used coop bedding are repeatedly being deposited and spread into the public alley, including the portion leading to my property, while the area directly behind the responsible property is largely avoided. When the material becomes wet, it creates a slick mud/slurry condition that has caused my vehicle to become stuck on several occasions and, most recently, caused my vehicle to slide in the alley and nearly strike a tree. The manure and bedding are also being picked up by my tires and tracked throughout the alley. This is also a concern because children regularly use and pass through this area, creating additional safety and sanitation concerns from direct contact with the manure and contaminated mud. I am requesting an inspection, removal of the accumulated material, and assistance preventing continued dumping or spreading of this waste in the public right-of-way."
