Property Maintenance -- I am requesting an inspection and investigation of the property located at: Property Address: Entra ATL 451 Lee St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310 There are serious concerns regarding the insecure entry into the garage and the failure to properly secure the entry point from the garage into the building. The garage access from the street is not adequately secured and the entry from the garage into the residential building is also not properly secured. The door providing access from the garage into the building has been propped open with inanimate objects so that tenants can enter without properly securing the door afterward due to badge access not working. Both problems are longstanding. This practice leaves the access point unsecured and provides an opportunity for unauthorized individuals to gain access to the building. In addition, the entrance into garage is not functional allowing residents and nonresidents to enter freely without any security measures. These conditions are particularly concerning because there have been multiple vehicle break-ins, with the most recent break-in occurring last night. The continued failure to properly secure these access points is creating an ongoing security and safety concern and allows opportunities for criminal activity to occur on the property. Given the repeated vehicle break-ins, reports of doors being intentionally left open, and the most recent incident, I am requesting that the appropriate City department conduct an inspection as soon as possible and determine whether these conditions constitute violations of applicable building, property-maintenance, or safety codes. If violations are identified, I respectfully request that the responsible party be required to promptly correct the conditions and ensure that the garage entrance and all access points between the garage and building are properly secured.
