Sewer tunnel for City of Atlanta -- The existing combined sewer culvert, used by the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM), has failed, causing sinkholes near the pipeline and close to railroad tracks. The compromised 300-foot segment runs
beneath NS and CSX railway lines and associated rights-of-way. Constructed in the early 1800s (stone) and early 1900s (brick), this project involves designing and construction of an alternative sewer alignment by tunneling under the railroad ROW. The tunnel extends from the Allied Lofts Condo located at 500 Means St to the GA tech Structures Lab at 645 Northside Dr on the other side of the railroad.
