Project Summary
Gaines Hall and Furber Cottage is situated on a 126-acre campus located west of Downtown Atlanta
within the center of the Atlanta University Center District (AUC). The CAU campus is located within a
residential, institutional, and industrial area generally bounded by Interstate 20 on the south, Lowery
Boulevard on the west, Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive on the north and Vine Street to the east. The
site for the proposed project encompasses approximately 0.70 acres, is located within the CAU
campus, and is at the corner of MLK Jr Drive SW and Vine Street SW. This property reverted to CAU
through legal preceedings in 2016 following sale by Morris Brown College.
