Highly Hazardous -- ****Unit 915A***** I am a tenant at Westmar Student Lofts and am requesting an interior Code Enforcement inspection regarding suspected mold/fungal growth and a possible moisture or ventilation/HVAC issue.
On October 1, 2026, I submitted an emergency maintenance request to property management documenting extensive visible dark spotting/growth and discoloration on the ceiling and around the HVAC vent/register. Photographs were included with the maintenance request, and I also have video documentation.
On October 2, 2026, maintenance came to the apartment and attempted to address the condition by replacing the vent and spray-painting the affected area. I am concerned that the underlying source of the moisture, ventilation problem, or suspected fungal growth was not investigated or corrected before attempting to cover the affected area.
I have also been experiencing illness/symptoms while residing in the apartment, although I am not making a medical determination regarding the cause.
I am requesting an interior inspection of the unit, including the affected ceiling/wall areas and conditions associated with the HVAC/ventilation system, to determine whether there is a housing-code violation or underlying leak, moisture, or ventilation problem requiring correction.
I have photographs, video, and documentation of my October 1 maintenance request available.

Highly Hazardous -- 9/23/26- ***Unit 829D*** The mold was recently noticed on 9/21/26, but ac unit the mold is growing from has not been properly inspected within the last year or longer. There were also cloth rags and shirts stuffed inside the vents, which likely contributed to the growth of the mold.

Active German Cockroach Infestation: There is an active, spreading pest infestation inside the living space and bedrooms.
